Not What I Expected
"I really didn't laugh. Modest Mouse is one of my favorite comedians, for some reason that night, I bought tickets. I got to the show a few hours early because I've never been to a show here or at a comedy show period.
Everything about the arena was off. That was disappointing. When I got there the lady directing traffic was kinda rude to my Uber driver and was yelling, making things awkward. I asked those men about what to do. They told me to stand in line because they wouldn't be opening until another hour. Ok, but where's the line? Why are there no signs showing people where to stand and what to expect from security? Just really weird.
I went to the area and asked passing security where to stand. Trash bins slumped over on the floor half open and the staff that came through later poured the water out where the customers stood not even looking at what he was doing, even his coworkers backed up. In the security area, it looked like a storm had blown through. It really looked so ghetto, I didn't even know where to stand. That was unprofessional.
Ghetto. When it was time to open the doors at 7 pm, one of the security ladies just said "Come on." She didn't explain to anyone the process of how security was going to work. I literally said, "What do I do?" for her to say anything.
The chairs EXTREMELY uncomfortable. The show started somewhat on time. Finally, getting inside, I waited. I was in so many aches and pains by the end of it. The seats were absolutely too close to the next person and so uncomfortable the entire night. I am slender, and I kept bumping arms with the guy next to me and he's smaller than me.
Everyone kept getting up and getting food and drinks, blocking views, and just not being respectful to the people around them. Seats were too small for most adults. To their gain, the seats! I couldn't wait to leave. I don't know how anybody enjoyed the show there were too many distractions, noise, and discomfort.
Kat Williams even seemed like he wasn't happy to be there either. Just glad to say I got to see his show, it's been something I've always wanted to do. He seemed very serious or he was distracted. Not sure which, but he just didn't seem like himself.
